Philosopy in educational administration has recently become a topic of great interest. The main reason for calling attention recently to the need for improved understanding of the roles of philosophical and social foundation of organizational theory is due to the criticisms originated by Greenfield(1978, 1979, 1980).
The purpose of the study was to ascertain what are the philosophical and social assumptions of the organizational theory and suggest a conceptual framework for the future analysis of organizational theory.
It seems that the interpretive perspective should not give up too much easily scientific method of the functionalist. Also, the functionalist should include the subjectivity and some individual interpretive aspects. Nevertheless, the interpretive should not insist that internal events such as thought and value cannot be quantitative at all. Furthermore, the interpretive and the functionalist perspective should be flexible in acceptance of the alienated state of humanity, change, conflict, or social contradictions proposed by radicalists.
Finally, the researcher suggested a following conceptual framework for the future analysis of organizational theory.
