This study is a comprehensive analysis of music therapy research studies on neurologic
speech & language disorders published from 1993 to 2013 in Korea. The purpose of
study is to yield some insight for optimal future directions in the research, and to
suggest solutions regarding some of the problems identified in past studies through a
systematic review. The analysis of studies focused on the patient characteristics, method,
assessment, music therapy programme, and effectiveness of intervention. The results
indicated that there are some considerations for evidence of the effectiveness of music
therapy. This study offers information, and will be guide in future music therapy
research studies on neurologic speech & language disorders.
