It is a great honor to represent the Academy of Human Resource Development (AHRD) at the 50th anniversary conference of the Korean Society for the Study of Education. I am truly humbled to share the lectern with so many distinguished scholars and theorists. As President of the AHRD, I represent a fledgling professional organization that has made tremendous strides in its brief 10 year history. The AHRD has over 700 members around the world who share the mission of leading human resource development (HRD) through research. The AHRD has an annual conference in the United States that results in refereed proceedings of over 1200 pages. The AHRD also co-hosts conferences with its chapters in Europe and Asia. The 2003 Asian Chapter conference will be in Bangkok, Thailand, November 30 - December 2. The 2004 Asian Chapter conference will be right here at Seoul National University!
