The purpose of this study is to investigate development of children's regulation motivation and its influence
on intention and satisfaction of physical education classes based by Self-determination theory. The subjects are
960 elementary school children(boys:464, girls: 486). The scale is used in this study Boiche and Sarrazin(2008)'s
Motivation Scale, Kim(2012)'s intention and satisfaction scale in physical education classes. In analysis aspect
of development in motivation, internal and identified regulation motivation is increased at 5th grade, but
decreased at 6th grade. Students who are 6th grade show higher external regulation motivation than other
grades. Introjected regulation motivation and amotivation is decreased at 5th grade, but increased at 6th
grade. There are no difference between boys' and girls' regulation motivation and amotivation. In analysis
multiple regression, internal and identified regulation motivation have positive influence on the intention and
satisfaction in physical education classes, but introjected regulation motivation has negative influence in
physical education classes.
