The aim of this study was to assess the relationship between the work and positive psychology of the trainers specially
employed for the senior citizens’ sports activities in terms of sport for all. The study employed Qualitative research method
through conducting in-depth interviews with the six trainers who were affiliated with the Gyeonggido council of sport for all.
According to the result of this study, they, in the domain of their works, experienced a sense of identity(recognization of the
differences compared with other trainers involved in sport for all, a wide range of job scopes), relationship(the impact of the
secretary-general, conflict with their colleagues), and prospect for development(a rare apportunity for demonstrating their
competency, little prospect for improving their labor conditions), and in the perspective of positive emotion, experiencing
strong-points in their character strength(optimism, resposibility). These results indicate that they have overcome the difficulties
derived from the work by using their character strength, such characteristics where optimism and responsibility were major
determinants of positive psychology.
