The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of clinical supervision based on
communication rational model on improving early childhood teacher’s story sharing practice and
increasing verbal interactions among children. In addition to that, this study is also interested in
investigate early childhood teacher’s attitude toward clinical supervision and their perception on story
sharing.
All 80 children of who attended two child care centers. Four classes (two classes from each child
care center) were all 4-year-old classes. Each class had 20 participant children. Two of the classes
were allocated for treatment group and the rest two classes were allocated for control group. The
treatment has been given one day per week for 10 weeks (from April 9, 2012 to June 7, 2012).
In conclusion, this study revealed that clinical supervision based on communication rational model
had positive effects on teacher’s attitude toward story sharing and their perception of story sharing.
Consequently, clinical supervision improves early childhood teacher’s story sharing practice and
increases verbal interactions among children.
