죽음예지태몽담은 ‘태몽-유산(출산-죽음)’의 구조로 되어 있는 일련의 태몽담을 말한다. 본 논문은 현재 전승되고 있는 이들 태몽담의 구조적 특징과 의의를 고찰한 것이다. 우선 이들 태몽담은 태아상징물과 꿈속주체 간의 어그러진 관계로 인해 현실의 유산 내 지 자식 사망 사건이 발생한다는 공통된 구조로 되어 있다. 또한 이러한 점에서 죽음예지태 몽담은 일반 태몽담과 사망꿈 이야기가 구조상 연결된 양상을 띤다. 다음으로 향유층의 꿈의식을 고려하면 이들은 태몽과 현실의 유산 내지 태몽대상의 죽 음이 긴밀하게 관련된다는 공통된 구조적 특징을 보인다. 그런데 이러한 태몽과 현실의 관 련성이 함축하는 의미는 하위유형별로 상이하다. 즉, 그 관련성이 태몽이 현실의 불행한 사 건을 예시함을 의미하기도 있고, 태몽이 그러한 불행한 사건을 유발함을 의미하기도 하는 것이다. 이 중 전자는 꿈의 예지력에 대한 믿음과 관련되어 민간의 생명관이, 후자는 부모 로서 태몽주체의 자책감이 강조된다는 특징이 있다. 마지막으로 이들 태몽담에는 자식의 출생 및 죽음은 부모의 의지와 무관하게 초월적 존 재에 의해 결정된다는 민간의 생명관이 투영되어 있다. 또한 그러한 출생 및 죽음이 구체적으로 이루어지는 것은 모체라는 점에서 이들 이야기에는 자식에 대한 모성의 기대 및 자책 감이 투영되어 있다. 따라서 이들 태몽담은 민간에 전승되어 온 원시적 생명관을 환기하고 출산 전후 자식의 건강한 삶에 대한 여성의 심리적 기대 양상을 서사화했다는 의의가 있다.
The dream of conception tales that show signs of death are a group of the dream of conception tales which are structured with stories about babies blessed by the dream of conception ended in miscarriage and death. I discussed them in structural characteristics and significance. First, the dream of conception tales are divided in several subtypes. However they show structural characteristic in common that the dream of conception and death in practice are closely related. Next, considering the consciousness that the group of possession have about the dream, the interrelationships between the dream of conception and reality are vary from above-mentioned subtypes. Namely, these interrelationships can be interpreted to mean that the dream of conception foreshadow the unfortunate incident in reality, or results in the unfortunate incident. From among these, the former one has the characteristics that folk life views are stressed, while the latter has the characteristics that the guilty conscience of dream subject as parents is stressed. Last, the folk life views that the birth and death of children are decided by transcendental existence regardless of will of parents are reflected in the dream of conception tales. In addition, in these tales, the expectation, concern, and responsibility of maternal?sm are reflected in the sense that the birth and death are performed specifically in body of maternal?sm. Therefore, the dream of conception tales are worthy of notice in the sense that these tales arise primitive life views which were handed down among people and make narrative of the psychological aspects that perinatal woman have with regard to children’s healthy life.
