Nowadays the importance of museum has got recognition by pepople more than ever but 1 think it is most urgent question how we understand the problems of the musuems in Korea and manage it with the view of the constructive method. According to this viewpoint 1 intended to investigate the situations of Korean museums and explore ways towards the adequate sσategy. The museums in Korea has gone through lasting development in quality and qu때디ty but in many cases many of them were( or are) confronted with a lot of difficulties that were( or are) caused by the lack of management fund of museum, the difficult of recruiting museum personnel, the treatment of museum materials and informations and so force. Under the assesment of these situations 1 gave attention to the experience of the European Union(EU), because of we could find the way of solution to our problems through their active networking within cultural field, especially "Cultural Capital of Europe" Prograrnme. In spite of the limitations and some criticism, this prograrnme has clearly produced significant results with the substantial side view of the development of the cultural life of local inhabitants and the establishment of the cultural network system. As the result of this programme, the feeling of satisfaction of cultural life was increased and the substantial partnership in cultural fields was also stimulated among the various cultural institutions and museums. These results intimate to us that the concrete and substantial museum network may take charge of the function what can solve some problems that the museums in Korea faces. And eventually the network may promote the satisfaction of visitors and be operated as the keystone of the development of museums in Korea. But more detailed matters wiU be concreted and completed hereafter through the deep study and analysis into this subject.
