Purpose of this study is to analyse factors affecting the parents' selection of high school
placement type for their children with special needs and the factors is impact to selection of
parents of students with special needs to select the high school. For these purpose, this study
identified a parents' perception with high school students with special needs through factor
analysis and discriminant analysis. The results of this study were as follows:
First, when selecting a high school, the parents of students with special needs considered eight
factor of special education factor, student's disabilities factor, stakeholders factor, inclusive
education factor, school reputation factor, school members factor, transport factor, and education
environment factor.
Second, when selecting a high school, parents of students with special needs was affected
significantly by special education factor, student's disability factor, transport factor, and school
reputation factor.
Therefore, when selecting a high school, parents of students with special needs will be
strengthened career education to be considered the education internal factors such as special
education factor, inclusive educational factor, education environmental factor than education
external factors such as school reputation factors, stakeholders factors, school factors et al.
