This study examined the Jindo-Drum-Dancemodelin schools: how it affects the primary
factors of stress in elementary school children, and how it positively affects mental health with
respect to social support and stress-coping abilities.
In order to study the efficacy of the Jindo-Drum-Dancemodelon the mental health of children,
its rhythms and basic motions were analyzed on the basis of preceding literature and research.
In addition, Gagne's instructional design theory was applied to examine the application of the
indo-Drum-Dancemodel to education.
The characteristics of the articulation marks of the high and low of the janggo and the basic
motions were examined in order to present visual materials which would lead to a knowledge
of a concrete, practical method of presenting the Jindo-Drum-Dancemodelin schools and an
appropriate instructional methodology. The rhythms and basic movements were studied and
differentiated by difficulty. Gagne's instructional design theory was examined with respect to
how the Jindo-Drum-Dance model might be applied in schools.
The results of this study indicate that the Jindo-Drum-Dance model could have a positive
effect on the mental health of children, especially those with severe social problems associated
with the external and internal stresses encountered in schools and families. In addition, it is
suggested that such programs could contribute to creative character education in elementary
dance education.
