본 연구는 사회화가 다양하게 이루어지는 원인을 한국의 밝은달교육대학교 학생들의 교사화 과 정을 사례로 하여 구체적으로 파악하고, 그것을 바탕으로 사회화를 어떻게 이해하는 것이 적절한지 를 모색하는 데 목적이 있다. 이 연구를 위해서 연구자는 2001년부터 2007년 사이에 한국의 밝은달 교육대학교에 재학한 경험이 있는 11명의 참여자를 대상으로 심층면담을 실시하여 자료를 수집하 고, 그 자료를 내용분석의 방법으로 분석했다. 그 결과 다음과 같은 사실을 확인할 수 있었다. 밝은달교육대학교는 한국의 초등학교 교사를 양성하기 위한 목적으로 설립되고 운영된다. 이 목 적을 달성하기 위해서 교육과정을 편성하여 운영한다. 밝은달교육대학교 학생들은 밝은달교육대학 교에 재학하는 동안 “좋은 초등학교 교사”가 되어야 함을 인식하고, 다양한 활동을 통하여 스스로 좋은 교사가 되기 위해서 노력한다. 그 결과 그들은 “김선생님형”, “페스탈로치형”, “프레이리형”, “소크라테스형”과 같은 서로 다른 교사상을 형성한다. 그들이 서로 다른 교사상을 형성하게 된 것 은 밝은달교육대학교의 교육과정 때문이기도 하지만, 그들의 입학 동기, 학교에 대한 기대, 그에 따 른 교육과정의 상이한 수용 등이 복합적으로 관련되어 있기 때문이기도 하다. 이런 사실에 비추어볼 때 사회화는 수동적이고 획일적인 과정이기만 한 것이 아니라 능동적이고 다양한 과정이며, 사회를 재생산하는 과정이기만 한 것이 아니라 사회를 구성해가는 과정이기도 하 다고 말할 수 있다.
The purpose of this study is to comprehend the cause of the variety of socialization on the case of the students of Bright Moon University of Education in Korea. On the basis of the study, I expected to understand the concept of socialization. For this study I in-dept-interviewed 11 graduates who had studied in Bright Moon University of Education in Korea from year 2001 to 2007. I analyzed the data by the method of content analysis. I found out the followings. Bright Moon University of Education is established to educate the elementary school teacher of Korea. Being in the university, the students inquired what is good teacher, and they established different types of good teacher. Mr. Joe, Pestalozzi, Freire, and Socrates are them. It is not only because of the curriculum of Bright Moon University of Education, but also the students' motive for entrance into the university, their expectation to the university, and their reception to the curriculum. Difference of these factors cause them establish different types of good teacher. This fact means that the students of Bright Moon University of Education socialize himself/herself as an elementary school teacher. On the basis of this fact the socialization is not singular passive process, but multiple active process. And socialization is not only reproduction process, but construction process too. This is consistent with the postmodern concept of socialization.
