In this study, a new advertising idea-generation technique was suggested by following creotaxis
concept after summing up previous research. As a result, six stages idea-generation technique; i.e.,
exploration, discovery, incubation, structure, outlook, and network were deducted, and it was named
as EDISON idea-generation technique. Also, six thinking directions were presented by focusing on
EDISON when generating idea by using this technique. More specifically, six thinking directions are
consisted of engagement, differentiation, insight, saturation, objectivity, and new-trial. It is expected
that Edison idea-generation technique is widely used in advertising production field.
