The media conversion phenomena are recreating the same narrative on multiple forms of media. The film-novel adaptation studies compare the narratives focusing on how the original sources are reflected and how they are altered, but they are limited. It is hard to understand the process of media conversion when the study about contents which are converted to multimedia focuses on how does transformation occur. For example, Harry Potter expands its narrative across media and original, and this expansion is called Harry Potter Series. The key for media conversion phenomena study is to find transmutability and identity. Transmutability means the narrative elements which continue to transfer via media. Identity means what makes these contents belong to a series after various media conversion. The purpose of the study is to investigate the process of how Harry Potter the representative original narrative as fantasy novel of media conversion are converted to multimedia platforms. This research analyzes the process based on spatiality, and then examine the characteristic of the original narrative, media conversion types, and spatial process of conversion.
