국문초록

본 연구의 목적은 유아의 지능과 문제행동간의 관계를 알아보기 위한 것이다. 울산광역시 소 재의 2개 유아교육기관에 재학 중인 만 3∼6세 유아 79명을 대상으로, 유아의 지능과 문제행 동은 각각 한국 웩슬러 지능검사(K-WPSSI-Ⅳ)와 K-CBCL을 사용하여 조사하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 기본지표척도와 전체 지능의 환산점수는 유아의 성별과 연령집단에 따라 유의한 차이 가 나타나지 않았다. 둘째, 유아의 문제행동의 하위요인인 위축, 우울/불안, 사회적 미성숙, 주의집중문제, 공격성과 문제행동 합은 유아의 성별과 연령집단에 따라 유의한 차이가 나타 나지 않았다. 셋째, 유아의 지능과 문제행동 하위요인 중 위축, 사회적미성숙, 주의집중문제, 공격성과 문제행동 합은 유의미한 부적 상관을 나타내었다. 특히 유아의 지능 환산점수는 주 의집중 문제와 가장 높은 상관이 나타났다. 기본지표지수인 언어이해, 시공간, 유동적추론, 작 업기억은 주의집중문제와 유의미한 부적상관을, 그리고 처리속도는 사회적 미성숙과 유의미 한 부적상관이 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 유아의 문제행동을 나타내는 유아들의 증가로 어려 움을 겪는 교사나 연구자들에게 문제행동의 예방과 감소를 위한 기초적인 자료를 제공할 수 있을 것이다.

영문초록

The purpose of this study was to determine the relation between young children’s intelligence and behavior problems. For this, the intelligence of young children was tested by Korea Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence-Ⅳ(K-WPPSI-IV), and the behavior problems were investigated by K-CBCL(Korea Child Behavior Checklist). The participants of this study were 79 children in the age of 3 to 6 from two kindergartens in Ulsan. The result showed that scores for Verbal Comprehension and Fluid Reasoning of Korean young children were lower than those of American young children but the perception of Visual Spatial, Processing Speed, and Working Memory scores of Korean young children were significantly higher than each average score (100, SD=15.0) of Americans. The Verbal Comprehension, Visual Spatial, Fluid Reasoning, and Working Memory had negatively correlated with the Attention Problems, and the Processing Speed had negatively related with Social Problems. As a result, both the cognitive activity of mediation through language and the program promoting attention activities in this study could reduce behavior problems. Therefore, it is suggested that these findings can contribute to helping instructors or researchers with difficulties in managing young children.
