This study surveyed couple communications of married women in the Seoul city and analysed factors affecting communications between husband and wife. Survey showed most couples had been experiencing passive communications and difficulties in expressing emotions compared with conceived levels of confidence and affection between husband and wife. Couple communications had significant differences among various groups according to levels of educational courses, size of incomes, goals of marriage life, and marriage styles. Husband\'s attitude to the equality of husband and wife and goals of marriage life had greatly influenced couple communications. Rather than populational factors of each husband and wife, relational factors such as structure and value in marriage were confirmed to be more important. In the time of a rapid change of family structures, we need to give more concern not only on individual and socioeconomic factors but also on relations and values for dealing with improving marriage life.
