The present study selected ‘UCC-Making to Cultivate the Sense of Cyber
Ethics’ as research theme, applied an integrated subject class of arts and ethics
and verified its effectiveness. And eventually it aims to cultivate the sense of
cyber ethics of the 2ndgraders in middles school. Diverse unethical problems have
taken place in cyber space and recognized as one of the threats that have to be
stopped. To solve this matter, an efficient education of ethics is necessary.
Learners naturally come to understanding of cyber space while efficiently
composing a teaching-learning process by creating contents of UCC out of their
own stories, exploring ethical problems in cyber space and finding solutions to it.
To do so, the present study analyzed Arts and Ethics of 2007 Revised
Educational Curriculum to find out a research theme. Fogarty, an integrated
education researcher, presented integrated subject class guideline based on Spider
Web-Based and Problem-Based Learning Model. The designed teaching guideline
was applied 8 times in total to 66 students in the second grade of J Middle
School in Eunpyung-gu, Seoul. 33 students (experiment group) participated in the
integrated subject class while 33 students in control group received conventional
class by subject. With ‘Inventory of Cyber Moral Ethics’, this study analyzed
difference between the groups.
As a result, it was found that the integrated subject class of arts and ethics
has a positive impact on respect, responsibility, justice, nonmaleficence and
knowledge of the second graders of the high school, which are the sub-factors of
sense of cyber ethics.
