본 연구는 미술치료전공 박사학위 과정생이 교과과정의 교과목으로 수강하는 수퍼비전에서 자율적인 반 응작업을 통해 경험하는 것을 탐색해봄으로써, 그것이 지니는 의미와 본질을 알기 위한 목적으로 수행 되었다. 이를 위해 미술치료전공 박사학위 과정에서 수퍼비전 교과목을 수강한 경험이 있는 6명의 연구 참여자를 선정하였으며, 이들이 체험한 것의 의미를 생생하게 이해하기 위해 Max van Manen의 해석학 적 현상학적 연구방법을 적용하였다. 자료수집기간은 2014년 2월부터 2014년 8월까지 심층면접을 통해 이루어졌으며, 자료가 포화되는 시점에서 종료하였다. 8개의 본질적 주제와 26개의 하위주제를 기반으로, 다음과 같은 네 가지 결론을 도출하였다. 첫째, 수퍼바이지의 자발적인 반응작업은 의식으로 떠오르지 않았던 자신의 모호한 생각과 감정을 알아차리게 해 주고, 이를 통해 수퍼바이지 자신을 객관화하며 미 술치료의 방향 설정에 도움을 준다. 둘째, 수퍼바이지의 의지로 실시되는 자발적인 반응작업은 내담자에 대한 이해를 다각도로 할 수 있게 하며 내담자와 깊은 소통이 가능하도록 돕는다. 셋째, 수퍼바이지의 자 발적인 반응작업은 교과목 수퍼비전에서 수퍼바이지가 경험하는 내담자를 직접적으로 연결 지음으로써 동료 수퍼바이지들이 내담자에게 더욱 집중하게 하고 다양한 반응을 도출하는 역할을 한다. 넷째, 자발 적인 반응작업은 교과시간 이외에도 지속적으로 작업하는 환경을 통해 수퍼바이지를 인식과 통찰에 이 르게 하고 미술치료사로서 전문성과 자기 돌봄이 가능하도록 이끌어 준다.
This research is intended to understand the meaning and the nature of the experiences of voluntary response arts made by supervisees in the art therapy doctoral program while taking a supervision class as a course work. Six students with the experience of taking a supervision class in the doctoral program participated in this research. Max van Manen’s research methodology of the hermeneutic phenomenological qualitative research has been applied to have clear understanding of the participants’ experience. Eight main topics and twenty six sub elements were derived based on a series of in-depth interviews conducted between February 2014 and August 2014. The conclusions of this study are as follows. First, the voluntary response art of supervisees helped them identify the vague, subconscious feelings and thoughts more visible. Through this, response arts work as a bridge with which supervisees can objectify themselves and set the direction of their therapy sessions with a client. Second, supervisees can have multiple angled understanding and deeper communication with their clients by conducting voluntary response arts. Third, supervisees’ voluntary response art helps the supervisor and other supervisees in the supervision class linked with the client more directly. This linkage can set focused attention and diverse responses among participants in the class. Fourth, voluntary response art making in supervision classes helps supervisees continue art making even after leaving the program. This contiuned effort leads supervisees to insightful self-awareness, professional self-identity and self-care.
