It is reported that about one third of married women are battered in Korea. Yet, domestic violence remains a “family secret”. This study examine some of the issues, dynamics, and interventions currently used in working with domestic violence. A thorough generational family assessment and intervention is suggested, because each family member has been affected and has issues to resolve before healthy relationships are possible. Further, a community coordinated treatment program bring together social worker, police officers, and attorneys is suggested to provide quality care and intervention for domestic abuse families.
