본 연구는 대학생의 개체화유형과 대인관계문제의 관련성을 탐색해보고 이를 통해 대학생들의 건강한 발달을 모색해보는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 서울시내 소재 대학에 재학 중인 대학생 228명을 대상으로 이들의 개체화유형과 대인관계문제의 경향을 분석하였으며, 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학생의 개체화경향에서는 개체화를 성취한 대학생이 많았으며, 여학생에 비해 남학생이 개체화 성취 경향이 높았다. 둘째, 대학생의 대인관계문제 경향에서는 여학생이 남학생보다 의존성으로 인한 대인관계문제가 많은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 개체화유형에서 부모와 정서적인 유대가 적고 자신에 대한 신뢰가 낮은 특성을 지닌 애매형의 대학생들이 대인관계문제가 많은 것으로 나타났다. 이때 남학생은 애매형이 가독립형보다 대인관계문제가 높게 나타났고 여학생은 애매형이 개체화형보다 대인관계문제가 높게 나타났다. 넷째, 개체화의 하위영역에서 남학생은 자아신뢰감이 높을수록 여학생은 자아신뢰감과 더불어 부모와의 연결이 높을수록 대인관계문제가 적은 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 개체화의 하위영역 중 자아신뢰감이 남녀 대학생 모두에게서 대인관계문제에 가장 큰 설명력을 지니는 것으로 나타났다.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the individuation and interpersonal problems of college students. The subjects of this study were 228 college students in Seoul. The individuation of college students was assessed by KLAIQ(Baik, Doh & Park, 1998) and the interpersonal problems of college students were assessed by KIIP(Jung, Kim & Kwon, 2000). The major findings of this study were as follows: Gender was found to be a significant factor on individuation of college students and independent problems in interpersonal problems. A significant difference among individuation was found with the college students of \'Ambiguous status\' reporting higher interpersonal problems than the college students of \'individuation status\' and \'pseudo autonomous status\'. Connectedness with parents and self-confidence among sub-dimensions of individuation were negatively correlated with interpersonal problems of college students. Self-confidence was the strongest predictor of interpersonal problems of college students.
