무용/동작 치료는 “개인의 신체와 정신의 통합을 위하여 움직임을 정신치료의 목적으로 사용하는 것(ADTA,1986:페이지 추가)으로 이것은 내적 변화의 매체로서 동작의 사용에 초점 맞추어진 심리치료의 형태이다. 무용치료사들은 내담자들의 근육 움직임과 심리적 그리고 생리적 과정 사이의 상호 관계에 초점을 두어 감정과 충동을 표현하게 함으로서 개인의 정체성을 찾게 한다. 그리하여 자기 인식의 명확한 감각을 가지고, 대체적인 행동 양식이 탐구 되어지고, 행동의 재구성이 보다 건강한 기능으로 나아가게 하는 것이다. 1940년대 이후 무용치료사들은 Chace에 의해 입증된 무용/동작 치료의 개념을 보편적으로 사용하고 있다(류분순,2000:53). 그녀는 무용/동작 치료의 이론을 세우는데 기초를 제공한 4가지 기본적인 개념 즉, 신체 활동(body action), 상징(symbolis), 치료적 움직임 관계(therapeutic movement relationship), 리듬적 그룹 활동(rhythmic group activity)을 주장하였다.
As a research about the teaching model of the dance therapist course, the purpose of this study is to scientifically and systematically approach to the teaching method for the future dance therapist, and to construct and plan the best teaching method. The teaching method for the dance therapist which researchers think is the treatment strategy for patients which can be used in various actual clinical fields by the theoretical understanding, and it was thought that the actual clinical exercise should be importantly considered from experiences mainly in school. In this paper teaching method was classified into four families researcher\'s learning the method to establish the knowledge was focused, and then the teaching method according to the lecture style of researchers and effective and ineffective teaching methods were treated. Additionally, as the essential curriculum, medical construction and therapy and medical relationship formation which should be exercised were also dealt with.
