The study was to understand how online video consumption patterns affect preschoolers’ selfregulation. A questionnaire was developed based on other scales in previous studies. This study has shed greater light on the application of picture books in the classroom to boost pupils’ reading engagement. in the high range for learning, and more than half was in the low range for working memory. Educational attainment, career, household income, income source, and primary caregiver role had significant relationships to parental stress levels. Parental stress levels did not significantly affect the cognitive processes and the relationships were generally negative. Parents should continuously practice effective stress management and coping responses to prevent stress spillover to their children. -

that a significant number of children in the study had no birth registration. Here we contrast the families with a registered child and the families with an unregistered child in relation to their knowledge of childrearing and how their knowledge and beliefs were put into practice. Findings indicate that there were identifiable differences in the two groups and these may be significant for policy makers and local governments when designing interventions to assist in alleviating poverty. -

language learning. Six mothers of children aged three to six years participated in an extended semi-structured interview. While mothers used the term “teaching” to refer to their practices with their child, their views about appropriate practices and their perceived capability as a parent-teacher varied considerably. The findings contribute to our understanding of how mothers respond to, and are affected by, educational policies regarding English language learning in very young children.
