On the other hand, father’s ‘intimacy’ and ‘control’ have significant direct effects to children’s aggression, which is a dependent variable in the model, in contrast, mothers’ ‘intimacy’, ‘control’, and ‘overprotection’ had significant direct effects to children’s aggression. In addition, there is a negative relationship children’s empathy and aggression significantly. Implications of findings were presented for educational policy makers and researchers on parenting. -

conducted to answer RQ2 and RQ3. The results of the study reveal a slight difference between maternal-paternal parenting styles, in which mothers portray more authoritative styles than fathers. Interestingly, only maternal education level predicts children’s reading skills and parenting styles of both do not predict children’s reading skills. Finally, it can be concluded that an Asian-parenting culture could potentially influence child-rearing styles among the urban parents in this setting. -

attention and general visual perception were shown to predict the speed of color naming up to 12.2% (Adjust R2 = .12, p < .05) and the speed of digit naming up to 14.1% (Adjust R2 = .14, p < .05). In conclusion, the visual perception and sustained attention abilities of Thai preschool children can predict their rapid naming ability. During early childhood, the importance of developing attentiveness and visual perception is indicated since it offers a positive reading acquisition ability. -
