whether there is a significant AIDS stigma gap among Korean people, and reveals causes and consequences of this perceptual gap. An analysis of the survey data collected to evaluate the impact of 2011 AIDS campaign in Korea revealed a perceptual gap between personal stigma and attributed stigma. AIDS knowledge was a significant factor in reducing this perceptual disparity. AIDS stigma gap significantly predicted public support on regulating prostitution but not on restricting same-sex marriage. -
The Use of Informal Opinion Leader-Based Strategy for the Diffusion of Public Health Services among International Workers in South Korea

Despite the public health risks to international workers and the urgency to reach them with appropriate public health services and information, few strategies to do so have achieved both effectiveness and sustainability. The present article proposes the identification, recruitment, and activation of informal opinion leaders, a strategy that utilizes interpersonal influence through existing advice-seeking networks among the target population. Coupled with an explanation about recruitment and... -

Exceptional properties and a one dimensional structure make carbon nanotubes (CNTs) a promising candidate for future applications in the electronic industry [1-3]. Because of their smaller dimensions and higher conductivity as compared to copper, multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) may increase the bandwidth density of global interconnects [4]. They demonstrate charge carrier mean free paths between 500 nm and 10 μm as compared to 40 nm in metals. CNTs can carry exceptionally high current... -

Zinc has been considered as a vital constituent of proteins, including enzymes. Mobile reactive zinc (Zn2+) is the key form of zinc involved in signal transductions, which are mainly driven by its binding to proteins or the release of zinc from proteins, possibly via a redox switch. There has been growing evidence of zinc’s critical role in cell signaling, due to its flexible coordination geometry and rapid shifts in protein conformation to perform biological reactions. The importance and...
