본 연구는 고대 그리스의 철학자 소크라테스가 즐겨 사용하였던 대화법을 응용하여 학습자들을 비판적 사고를 통해 스스로 해답을 찾는 능동적 학습자로 변화시킬 수 있는 교수법을 모색하고자 하였다. 구체적으로, 다양한 주제를 제시하여 교수자와 학습자가 1:1 혹은 1: 다수의 방식으로 문답을 나누고 상호 소통할 수 있도록 수업을 구성하고 진행하였다. 이러한 방식은 기존 수업방식에서 약간의 변형과정을 거치게 되면, 학습자가 충분히 자기 성찰이 가능한 수업으로 변모할 수 있는 가능성을 보여주었다는 데 의의가 있다.
