의료 관련 감염은 침습성 의료기술의 발전, 항균제 내성균 및 면역저하자와 노령인구의 증가로 점차 증가하고 있으며, 감염률이 입원환자의 5-15%에 이르는 것으로 추정하고 있다. 의료 관련 감염의 원인으로는 환자와 접촉이 많은 의료인의 손을 통한 교차 감염과 같이 미생물의 직접적인 전파에 의한 것이 대부분이지만, 최근에는 청진기, 침상, 기구 표면과 병원 직원의 유니폼을 통한 황색포도알균이나 장알균의 간접 전파가 보고되고 있다. -

2010년 국민건강영양조사(Ministry of Health and Welfare [MHW], 2011)에 의하면 30세 이상 성인의 고혈압 유병률은 28.9%이다. 고혈압 유병률을 연령으로 구분하면 30대(30-39세)는 7.2%에 불과하며, 연령에 따라 점차 증가하여 60대에 55.6%, 그리고 70세 이상에서는 61.2%에 이르고 있다. 국민건강영양조사에서 1998년 이후 2010년까지 보고한 전국 65세 인구의 고혈압 유병률은 55.3-60.7%로(MHW, 2011) 우리나라 노인들의 절반 이상이 고혈압을 앓고 있으며, 이들 65세 이상 노인의 고혈압 유병률이 30대 성인 유병률의 8.5배, 40대... -
