Exploring Cues to Action in Health Belief Model
Hye-Jin Paek, Kyung-Ah Shin, Byoungkwan Lee 한국광고PR실학회 광고PR실학연구 25 Pages
한국광고PR실학회 광고PR실학연구 2017, 제 10권 1호 9 219-243 (25 pages)
The Health Belief Model (HBM) has played a key role in describing, explaining, and predicting health-related outcomes. As one of the major health behavior theories, HBM has been well applied in numerous health-related studies. However, these studies often ignore the original conception of HBM as a theoretical model because they focus mainly on the predictive roles of risk perception variables ? i.e., perceived susceptibility, severity, benefit, and barrier. Within that process, cues to action... -

한국종교교육학회 종교교육학연구 2010, 제 34권 1 1-15 (15 pages)
Both classical philosophy and contemporary research suggest education should provide young people with opportunities to develop themselves in a well-balanced manner: Academic and intellectual advancement should take place in the context of spiritual and moral growth. This, however, is not happening in the national education system of any nation today. On the contrary, with the advancement of modern science and technology, materialism and consumerism are on the rise, and spirituality and... -

BDNF and TrkB mRNA levels. Genistein effectively upregulated cAMP levels and phosphorylation of CREB and TrkB, leading to activation of cAMP/CREB-BDNF-TrkB signaling. PI3K/Akt signaling was also significantly activated. Genistein administration improved general behavior and enhanced learning and memory in the rats. These observations suggest that genistein exerts neuroprotective effects by suppressing isoflurane-induced neuronal apoptosis and by activating cAMP/CREB-BDNF-TrkB-PI3/Akt signaling. -

to ovariectomized untreated rats. It is concluded that increased tryptophan metabolism toward kynurenine secondary to elevated corticosterone and TNF-α might be one of the pathohphysiological mechanisms that could explain depression like state observed in this rat model. Further, the observed attenuating effect of HP on TNF-α and corticosterone could contribute in its antidepressant effect in this animal model by other ways than their effects on tryptophankynurenine metabolism pathway. -

The emerging concept of the“neurovascular unit”may enable a powerful paradigm shift for neuroscience. Instead of a pure focus on the“neurobiology”of disease, an opportunity now exists to return to a more integrative approach. The neurovascular unit emphasizes that signaling between vascular and neuronal compartments comprise the basis for both function and dysfunction in brain. Hence, brain disorders are not just due to death of neurons, but instead manifested as cell signaling perturbations... -
