1972-1973년도 2년간에 걸쳐서 작은빨간집모기 (Culex tritaeniorhynchus)를 구제하고자 차량지상초미입자(ULV) 살충제살포 방법으로 Premium-Sumithion(98%) 원액을 헥타당 438$mell$의 기준으로 부산사상지역에서 75헥타에 살포하였다. 살포작업 실시후 약 5일간 모기 성충은 70% 정도의 구제효과를 나타냈고 살충제 입자의 잔류로 인하여 모기서식장소에서 유충도 약 5일간 구제효과가 있었다. 1972년에 실시되었던 야간과 조조작업에서 야간보다 더 좋은 구제효과를 보여 주었다.
Ultra-low-volume applications of Premium-Sumithion at the dosage of 483$mell$ Per hectare by vehicle mounted ground LECO ULV generator have carried out in Sasang, Pusan to control Culex tritaeniorhynchus within about 75 hectares of this area in 1972-1973. Hignly effective adult reduction was obtained, and lasted for five days after treatment. In addition the residual activity of insecticide larger droplets in the mosquito breeding places reduced the larval populations in 1973. The logistic advantageous of early morning treatment over evening treatment are discussed.
