Inguinal hernia in children is easily diagnosed in most cases ; however, it is sometimes difficult or impossible to detect by physical examination. The some is true of a contralateral asymptomatic hernia. White have reported that herinogrpahy is easy to perform and has a high degree of accuracy and minimal morbidity. The diagnostic accuracy of herniogrpahy in detection of patent process vaginalis is 95-98% by white. Rowe found 40 % of children over age of 2 years and adults with a unilaterl congenital hernia had an open process vaginalis in contralateral normal site and he concluded that 20 % of patients with a unilateral hernia will develop a contralateral hernia sometime during life. It isnessary to check the condition of the normal site before surgery in unilateral hernia byherniogram. But in adults , the hernigraphy was not performed due to perform and high degree of accuracy. The results are : 1. Total number of studies are 25 patient of unilateral inguinal hernia. 2. We found 32% of adults male with unilateral hernia had an open precess vaginalis in contralateral nomal site. 3. Slight more abdominal discomfort than children is noted during injection of Hypaque. 4. Prominent lateral recess of Douglas pouch and poor coating of contrast media to peritoneum are different radiologic finding from children.
