강원도 실악산에서 채집된 혹무늬톡톡이를 조사한 결과 그 가운데 두부의 혹들이 후두부를 제외 하고 모두 유합되어 있고 제 5복절의 혹들 역시 유랑된 특이한 종이 발견되었다. 이들의 형질상태는 5복절에서 기기존속들과는 현저하게 다르므로 혹무늬톡톡이아과(Neanurinae)내에 신속 Tetraloba를 창설한다. 이들의 상피를 주사전자현미경으로 관찰한 바 일차 과립들로 이뤄진 매우 발달한 융기들이 무수히 형성되어 있고 타선조직에는 거대다사염색체가 발달되어 있었다.
A Neanurid form from Seolag-san mountain, Korea was found to be new to science, named as Tetraloba seolagensis n. sp. in a new genus of Neanurinae. All the tubercles of the head except the posterior ones were fused into a single plate, those of DI of the fourth abdominal segment combined each other and all the tubercles on the fifth segment coalesced completely with the formation of apparently four posteriorly developed lobes or sacs. The probable affinity may be extended over to Lathriopyga for the cryptopygy as well as for tubercular fusions in the head. Scanning electron microscopy revealed numerous elevations and foldings of the integument, covered with primary granules. Polytene chromosomes were observed from salivary gland cells.
