누에의 변태기작을 밝히기 위한 일환으로 변태기 동안의 지질의 농도 및 조성에 대해서 TLC와 Spectrophotometer를 이용하여 조사하였다. 혈림프의 평균 총지질 농도는 종령유충기에 0.1~0.2%, 전용기에 0.14%, 용기에 0.74%를 차지하고 있으며, 지방체는 종령유충기에 2.0%, 전용기에 23%, 용기에 24%를 차지하는 것으로 보아 지방체가 지질저장의 주요부위로 간주된다. 또한 중성지질 가운데 diglyceride가 혈림프의 주요성분이며 triglyceride는 지방체의 주요성분이다. phospholipid는 혈림프에서 총지질의 5~15%를 차지하나 지방체에서는 그 함량이 매우 낮다(0.2~1.2%). 또한 sterol 함량은 지방체에서 보다 혈림프에서 더 높은 비율을 차지하고 있다.
As a part of clarifying the mechanism of metamorphosis, the amount and composition of the lipid during metamorphosis of Bombyx mori was determined using thin-layer chromatography and Spectrophotometer. The average total lipid content in haemolymph is about 0.1∼.2% in last instar, 0.14% in prepupae, and about 0.74% in pupae, whereas in fat body about 20% (fat body dry weight basis) in last instar, 23% in prepupae, and 24% in pupae, indicating that fat body is major site of lipid storage. Also, among the neutral fats, diglyceride is the predominant class in haemolywlph while triglyceride is major lipid in fat body. Phospholipid accounts for 5-l5% of total lipid in the hemolymph but low percentage (0.2∼l.2%) in the fat body. Sterol amounts to a greater proportion of the lipid in the haemolymph than in the fat body.
