The computed tomographic findings of labor collapse are analysed in an attemp to evaluate the patterns of laor collapse and to get the helpfulsigs in differentiation between benign and malignant causes of collapse. 43 cases of labor collapse with or without endobronchial obstruction were reviewed. In 29 of 43 cases the collapses were caused by lung concer. Benign causes of labor collapse included tuberculosis, broncholith, organizing pneuonia and hamartoma. The helpful signs favoring malignant cause of the labor collapse were proximal bulging of the collapsed lobe, low density mass within the collapsed lung, and endobronchial lesion. Above described differential findings were especially applicable in cases of uper lobe collapse.
