The CT scan is a good diagnostic method in the evaluation of prostatic cancer in terms of size and con-tour invasion of adjacent organs and lymph node metastasis. We evaluated pelvic CT scan and compared its findings with the final clinical stages in 20 patients with prostate adenocarcinoma and two cases of rhabdomyosarcoma at Department of Radiology Korea Universi-ty Hospital during recent 3 years. All the 9 cases which showed distant metastases (bone lung and paraaortic lymph node) displayed the pelivic CT findings with advanced involvement (CT stage C. D) Especially 2 cases with paraaortic lym-phadenopathy also showed pelvic lymphadenopathy. the degree of pelvic involvement of prostate cancer on pelvic CT scan was closely related to its hematogeneous or extrapelvic lymphogenous dissemination In conclusion pelvic CT scan is an effective modality in the initial staging of prostate cancer.
