This study represents the clinical and radilolgic analysis of PNS aspergillosis in 8 cases which were confirm-ed histopathologically from Jan 1986 to Dec. 1987. The results were as follows : 1. Of 8 cases 2 cases were males and 6 cases females. Age dostrobitopm was from, 34 Yrs . 2. Chief complaints at admission were variable such as periorbital pain nasal stuffness facial pain toothache and headache. The durationof symptoms was 4.6 months in average. 3. Involvements of PNS were maxillary ethmoid and sphenoid sinuses with descending frequency. 4. Plains tilms of PNS showed unilateral haziness and mucoperiosteal thickening in all cases with bony destruc-tion in 2 cases. 5. In all cases there were noted unilateral interixture of high density nodular soft tissues with contrast enhance-ment and bony sclerosis on CT scans. Bony destructionwas noted in 3 cases. Characteristic high attenuation density (calcification) were seen in the central necrotic areas in all cases. We consider that PNS aspergillosis is highly suggested when patient shows clinically aggressive symptoms and rapid progression and CTscans reveal bony destruction or calcifications in the central necrotic area.
