배추흰나비 (Pieris rapae L.)의 변태기간 동안 혈림프와 지방체에서는 두개의 저장단백질이 확인되었는데, 이들의 양적변화는 종령기에는 혈림프에서 높은 농도를 유지하나 용화 후에는 지방체에 축적하는 경향을 나타내었다. 유충에서 용으로 전환되는 동안 지방체에 형태적 변화가 일어나는데, 특히 핵이 불분명하고 세포사이의 간격이 없어지는 특징을 나타내었다. 전용 후기의 지방체에서 저장단백질의 흡수현상이 가장 현저하였다. 저장단백질은 용시기 동안 지방체내에 과립형태로 축적되었다가 이후 성충기에 급격하게 감소하였다.
Two kinds of storage proteins were confirmed in haemolymph and fat body during the metamorphosis of Pieris rapae. These proteins showed that the tendency of maintaining high concentration in haemolymph of last instar larvae but being deposited in fat body after pupation. Morphological change of fat body occuring during the period of larval to pupal stage showed the characteristics that nuclei become indistinguishable and distinction between cells disappeared. Uptake of storage proteins into fat body takes place most actively at late prepual stage. Storage proteins are deposited in the fat body in the form of granules during the pupal stage but drastically declined during the adult stage.
