1990년 3월부터 1994년 9월까지 한반도의 남한(대한민국)과 주요 부속도서를 대상으로 약 1백만 개체의 왕개미류를 채집하였다. 양적 형태학적 형질을 측정하고 PAGE로 전기영동을 하여 그 데이타를 UPGMA방법으로 유집분석하였다. 이 두가지 방법으로 분석된 결과들을 비교한 결과 C. obscuripes와 C. quadrinotatus (A군)는 96% 유사도； C. fuscus와 C. nipponensis (B군)는 87% ； C. itoi와 C. japonicus (C군)는 47%； A군과 B 군은 60%; D군(A군과 B)과 C. jejuenisis는 28%； E군과 C군은 12%; C. kiusensis는 0%로서 가장 먼 군으로 나타났다.
In order to study systematics of Camponotus ants, approximately one hundred thousand specimens were collected from all over the southern part and offshore islands of Korean peninsula (Republic of Korea) from March, 1990 to September 1994. Quantitative morphological data were analyzed, as were genetic variances of general protein on the basis of electrophoretic data by PAGE. All data were computed using UPGMA to Set Phenograms. As a result of com-paring both the morphological and electrophoretic phenograms, it was found that the eight Camponotus ant species of Korea have following relationships; C. obscuripes and C. quadrinotatus (A group) have 96％ degree of similarity; C. fuscus and C. nipponensis (B group) have 87 ％ ; C. itoi and C. japonicus (C group) have 47％. Group A and B have 60％; D group(A and B) and C. jejuenisis have 28％; E group and C group have 12%; C. kiusensis has 0％ and is the farthest group from them.
