풍뎅이파리과에 속하는 한국산 Eupyrgota속과 Paradpasilia속을 분류학적으로 재검토 하였다 이번 연구를 통하여 1종의 신종을 포함하는 4종을 기록하였다. E. tuteola Coquillett-큰풍뎅이파리, 신칭; E. rufosetosa Chen-노랑털풍뎅이파리, 신칭; E. tigrina Kim et Han n. sp.-호랑풍뎅이파리, 신칭; P. trinotata Chen-긴꼬리퐁뎅이파리, 신칭. 이들 4종에 대한 검색표와 삽화를 곁들인 기재문을 수록하였다.
Korean species of the genera Eupyrgota Coquillett and Paradapsilia Chen (Diptera: Pyrgotidae) are taxonomically revised. Members of Pyrgotidae are largely nocturnal, and, as far as known, internal parasites of adult scarabaeoid beetles, but the host relationships of these two genera are not known yet. Based on the Korean specimens either collected or borrowed from other institutions, adult external morphology, including genitalic structures of both sexes, is described and illustrated. As a result, we have recognized the following four species previously unknown in Korea: Eupyrgota luteola Coquillett, E. rufosetosa Chen, E. tigrina Kim et Ran n. sp., and Paradapsitia trinotata Chen. In addition, we found that the only previous Korean record of the family Pyrgotidae (as Eupyrgota fusca (Hendel)) was due to the misidentification of a new species of the genus Adapsilia, for which we are planning to publish later.
