The relative population of mango hopper species on different varieties of mango were recorded at Mir Ghulam Rasool Talpur Fruit Farm Tandojam, Sindh, Pakistan during year 2000. The varieties screened for pest infestation were Sindhri, Langra, Sarolee, Dashehari, Swarnarika, Gulabkhas, Neelum, Zafran and Desi (indigenous). The results indicated that mango hopper species appeared on all varieties from initiation of fresh flush of leaves/inflorescence during last week of February with 1.94 individuals per shoot. The maximum mean seasonal population 5.89 to 6.15 individuals per shoot was recorded during March to first week of April. Second peak population 3.10 to 3.28 individuals per shoot was recorded during 3rd and 4th week of June. Thereafter, the mango hopper population declined upto harvest i.e., last week of July. The results further indicated that there was a statistical significant difference between varieties and weeks. The Langra and Sarolee varieties were relatively susceptible showing mean population of 5.65 and 4.91 individuals per shoot. Whereas, the Neelum (1.40), Zafran (1.72) and Dashehari (2.10) harbored less numbers of mango hoppers/shoot.
