본 연구는 기록물의 중시국으로서, 우리나라에서의 대학기록물 관리업무가 현재 어느 수준으로까지 발전해 있는가를 규명하기 위해 시작된 것이다. 이를 위해 수행한 국내 전 대학을 대상으로 한 기록물관리 업무의 설치와 운용에 관한 조사결과 매우 저조한 수준에 이르고 있음을 확인하였다. 기록물관리를 독립된 업무로 수행하고 있는 대학은 전 대학의 20%수준이며, 대학별로 차별화된 특별 방법에 의해 기록물자료를 운용 혹은 활용하고 있는 대학은 한 건도 없었다.
This study aims to investigate the current level of university archives management in Korea. After researching the actual condition of the management of the records in all universities in Korea, focusing on the institution and the operation, the inactiveness of the management was pointed out ; only 20% universities of all keep managing and utilizing the archives, and none has a plan for a special application of its archives.
