본 연구는 아동의 개인적 변인, 어머니 표상 및 또래 표상이 사회적 능력에 미치는 영향을 보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 서울 및 인천지역에 위치한 초등학교 4, 5, 6학년을 대상으로 어머니 표상, 또래 표상, 사회적 능력에 관한 설문조사를 실시하였고 수집된 자료 중 최종 547명의 자료를 분석하였다. 본 연구를 통해 밝혀진 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어머니 표상은 아동의 사회적 능력에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 또래 표상 또한 아동의 사회적 능력에 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 셋째, 아동의 사회적 능력에 대한 개인변인의 영향력을 제거하고서도 어머니 표상 및 또래 표상은 아동의 사회적 능력에 중요한 예측변인임이 확인되었다.
This study analyzed the influences of personal variables, mother representation and peer representation on children\'s social competence. Subjects were 547 students of elementary school in Seoul and Inchon. Data were analyzed by simple regression and hierarchical multiple regression. The results of this study are as follows. First, mother representations influenced on children\'s social competence. Second, peer representations influenced on children\'s social competence. Third, mother and peer representations, removing influences of personal variables on children\'s social competence, influenced on children\'s social competence independently.
