본 연구의 목적은 ｢주제접근 통합교육과정｣을 통하여 멀티미디어에 대한 안전교육의 효과를 분석하는 데 있다. 연구대상은 서울에 소재한 대학 부속 유치원의 종일반 한 학급의 유아들이며 수업상황을 참여 관찰을 통해 분석하였다. 자료의 분석은 먼저 전사본을 읽어가며 안전교육의 효과가 나타난 사례를 수집하였으며, 분류작업을 통해 교육적 함의에 따라 범주화하였다. ｢주제접근 통합교육과정｣을 통하여 멀티미디어에 대한 안전교육의 효과를 분석해 본 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 멀티미디어로부터의 안전교육 효과는 내면화되지 않은 순응, 갈등, 의지적인 태도와 실천적인 행동이 순환적인 과정으로 나타났으며 둘째, 가정과의 자연스러운 연계를 통해 유아들뿐 아니라 부모들의 멀티미디어에 대한 안전의식과 태도가 고취되었으며 가정에서도 지속적으로 실생활에 적용하게되었다. 따라서 멀티미디어에 대한 안전교육을 위해 유아의 안전의식 및 태도, 주도적인 대처능력을 길러주는 데에 ｢주제접근 통합교육과정｣이 효과적인 교수․학습방법임을 알 수 있다.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of multimedia safety education in the Theme Approach Integrated Curriculum. A full-day class of a university-affiliated kindergarten in Seoul was observed. Transcripts that included cases of effective safety education were collected and classified according to educational implication. The results of the multimedia safety education are as follows: First, the effectiveness of multimedia safety education cycled between uninternalized acceptance, conflict, willful behavior and executed behavior. Second, through a natural extension, not only children but also parents were inspired to think and behave in a safer manner. This allowed for a continuous application towards life outside the kindergarten. Thus multimedia safety education based on the Theme Approach Integrated Curriculum is an appropriate instruction-learning method for fostering the development of safety awareness and attitudes, and ability to react in a proactive manner. 주제어(Key Words)안전(safety), 멀티미디어 안전교육(multimedia safety education), 주제접근 통합교육과정(The theme approach integrated curriculum)
