본 연구는 겹치거나 접촉된 문자들을 포함하는 필기체 한글로부터 문자를 분할하기 위한 새로운 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안한 알고리즘은 한글의 구조적 특성과 구성법칙을 기반으로 한다.첫번째 단계에서 특징들이 검축되며,검출된 특징들을 이용하여 두번째 단계에서 획의 자소 클래스를 인식한다.세번째 단계인 분할 과정은 수직 분할과 요철형태에 의한 분할로 구성된다.분리된 문자들을 WRC(White Run Column)에서 수직으로 분할한 후,임계값 이상인 세그먼트에 대하여 예상분할 영겨을 추정한다.겹쳐지거나 접촉된 문자들은 임계영역 내에 있는 획들의 최소 외접사각형을 따라 요철형태로 분할된다. 이때,접촉된 문자들에 대하여 접촉 유형을 결정하고,그 접촉 유형에 따라 분할 된다.학생들의 보고서를 실험 자료로 삼은 결과 94.8% 이상의 정확률을 보였다. 주제어:한글문자 분할,접촉유형,자소클래스
This paper proposes segmentation method of off-line handwritten Hangul.The suggested approach is based on the structural characteristics of Hangul.The first stop extracts the local features,connected components and strokes from the input word.In the second step,we identify hte Jaso-class of strokes.The adjoining types between adjacent charactes are categorized in three groups:spaced charactes,overlapped characters and touching characters.In third step,characters are separated according to their adjoining types.Spaced characters are separated in WRC vertically. Overlapped charactes are separated using the connected components.For touching charactes,the algorithm identifies the touching types.The overlapped and touching characters are splitted zig-zagged along the minimum circumscribed retangle of strokes.
