In this study, subjects were selected 424 people with visual impairments, and
demographic analysis were conducted according to age, height, weight, body fat, BMI,
WHR. To determine obesity rate, body fat, BMI and WHR were used. Verification of
mean difference and interaction between degree of disability and age were carried
out. The results are as followed.
First, in men with visual impairment, regardless of degree of disability, adulthood
has highest body fat rate and school age child has lowest body fat rate. In addition,
in women with visual impairment, amblyopia in 50’s and blind in 30’s showed highest
body fat rate and school age girls have lowest body fat rate. Both male and female
with visual impairments’ BMI, there is difference between age and degree of disability.
In WHR, both amblyopia and blind have difference in body fat rate and BMI which
showed irregular arrangement. Second, there is interaction effect of body fat rate and
BMI to age and disability level. Third, it is recommended that people with visual
impairment to use bioelectrical impedance method to measure their obesity except
people with multiple disabilities
