아동기 정서적 학대경험과 청소년기 자살생각 간의 관계: 자기체계 손상과 우울의 매개효과

본 연구는 아동기 정서적 학대경험과 청소년기 자살생각 간의 관계에서 자기체계 손상과 우울이 어떤 역할을 하는지 알아보기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 중․고등학교 청소년 366명 (남: 168명, 여: 198명)을 대상으로 자기보고식 설문지를 실시하였으며, 변인들 간의 전체적 인 관계를 파악하기 위하여 구조방정식 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 아동기 정서적 학대 경험과 청소년기 자살생각 사이에서 자기체계 손상과 우울은 각각 단순매개효과를 나 타냈다. 둘째, 아동기 정서적 학대 경험이 자기체계 손상과 우울을 순차적으로 거쳐 청소년 기 자살생각에 영향을 미치는 이중매개효과도 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 아동기 정서적 학대가 개인의 자기체계 손상 및 우울에 영향을 주고 청소년기 자살 생각에 이르게 할 수 있음을 보여준다. 따라서 정서적 학대경험이 있는 청소년의 자살생각 을 최소화하기 위해서는 자기체계 손상 및 우울에 개입하는 것이 적절할 것이며, 특히 본 연구에서 나타난 자기체계 손상의 영향을 고려할 때, 이는 상담 장면에서 중요하게 다뤄져 야 할 필요가 있겠다.

영문초록

The purpose of this study was to identify the relationships among childhood emotional maltreatment, adolescent suicide ideation, a traumatized self-system, and depression. Structural equation modeling analysis was conducted using self-report data from 366 adolescents (168 male and 198 female). The findings of this study were as follows. First, childhood emotional maltreatment had an indirect effect on suicidal ideation through a traumatized self-system or depression. Second, double-mediation effects of a traumatized self-system and depression between childhood emotional maltreatment and adolescent suicide ideation were also significant. This study proved that a traumatized self-system, a relatively new concept just introduced in previous studies, was a significant predictive factor for suicide ideation, serving as an intervening varable of developing suicidal ideation among adolescent who had suffered emotional maltreatment. Based on these findings, effective intervention strategies were discussed for individuals who experienced emotional maltreatment as children and for those who are experiencing difficulties in with adolescent suicide ideation.
