This study is for collecting and providing basic data to conduct animated study
hereafter by inquiring about the recent trends of study related to school’s physical
education for the blind focused on Korean domestic study. In this study, the results
of 38 studies about school’s physical education for the blind which had been posted
in domestic scientific journal since the 1990s were collected and analysed, and it was
intended to considerate study trends and find out research task and plan for the
development of school’s physical education for the blind from now on. Following the
analysis result, scientific journal and annual trends were released in the 4 major
scientific journal such as 「The Korean Journal of Visual Impairment」, 「Journal of
Special Education : Theory and Practice」, 「Journal of Adapted Physical Activity &
Exercise」, 「Journal of Sport and Leisure Studies」, at the rate of 68.4%, and the
number of studies published since 2006 had increased. Studies for behavior
measuring and assessment were conducted in research subject the most, and studies
for P.E. class and physical function analysis were conducted in research situation the
most. The most frequently used research method was quantitative research and the
most frequently used research object was middle and high school students in these
studies. Based on the result, henceforth task related to school’s physical education
for the blind was suggested, it will be used as basic data for comprehending the
research direction of school’s physical education for the blind.
