This study intends to examine teachers' service satisfaction in child care support centers and identify their
awareness on development measures, thereby, providing the preliminary data for childcare support centers
to offer more effective services. For this study, a survey was carried out targeting 130 teachers working
for childcare centers located in Gwacheon city. The issues of the survey consisted of teachers' frequency
of use of the center and their satisfaction, participation in the services, and the teachers' awareness of
development measures. The results of the study are as follows: First, it was identified that the most used
items by the teachers among the services provided by the childcare support center include evaluation
accreditation information, and participation in evaluation accreditation education programs or the related
events. In terms of services satisfaction, the most satisfied items by the teachers include information on
evaluation accreditation index and safety education, and support for substitute teachers. Second, the survey
on the awareness of the teachers on childcare support centers showed that all respondents were aware of
the centers and mostly came to know through the nursery schools they were working for. The teahers
recognized that the most effective measures for the improvement of the childcare support centers were to
promote their services through nursery schools and use of websites or encouragement of a personal visit.
This study seems significant in that it provides preliminary data for effective operation of the childcare
support system by reflecting the opinions of childcare teachers who are the actual users of the childcare
support centers.
