본 연구에서는 2014년 학업성취도 평가에서 구축된 초6-중3-고2 학생수준 종단 자료를 기반으로 고등학교 학교유형별 학생 특성을 확인하기 위해 유형별 초･중･고등학교에서의 학업성취 변화와 교육 맥락변인 특성의 변화를 살펴보았다. 또한 초･중학교 당시 성취수준과 배경 특성이 유사한 학생의 고 교 진학 유형별 학업성취 변화에 대한 비교를 통해 학교유형별 학력향상 효과를 검증하였다. 주요 결 과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 고등학교 진학 유형별로 초‧중학교 학업성취도의 차이를 분석한 결과, 고등학 교 유형에 따라 초･중학교 때 학업성취도의 차이가 큰 것으로 나타났으며, 학업성취 향상에 대한 학교 유형별 효과에 대한 분석 결과, 일반고와 비교하여 자사고는 모든 교과에서, 외고/국제고는 국어와 영 어에서, 과학고는 수학에서 학업성취가 향상된 것으로 파악되었다. 둘째, 자공고, 외고/국제고는 일반고 에 비해 교과관련 방과후학교 참여율이 높았으며, 학교생활 행복도도 높은 경향을 보였다. 셋째, 진학 유형별로 학생들의 가정 배경을 살펴보면, 양부모 가정 비율은 일반고 및 자공고에 비해 과학고, 외고/ 국제고, 자사고에서 높았으며, 외고/국제고 및 자사고 진학생은 기초생활수급 대상자 비율이 낮은 초･ 중학교를 다닌 경향이 두드러졌다. 넷째, 사교육 시간은 초･중학교에서 외고/국제고, 과학고, 자사고 진 학생이 일반고와 자공고 진학생보다 높은 것으로 나타났으며 고등학교에서는 자사고, 외고/국제고, 일 반고, 자공고, 과학고 순이었다. 그러나 초･중학교 당시 성취수준과 배경 특성이 유사한 학생간 비교 결과, 일반고 진학생들의 사교육 시간이 다른 유형에 비해 더 많은 것으로 확인되었다. 다섯째, 수업태 도는 과학고, 외고/국제고, 자사고, 자공고, 일반고 순으로 나타났으며, 중학교 시기부터 차이가 큰 것 으로 파악되었다. 또한, 학교생활 행복도는 고교 입학 이후 과학고, 외고/국제고, 자사고, 자공고, 일반 고 순으로 나타났다.
This study explored the trends of both achievement and characteristics of educational context variables to identify student characteristics according to the type of high school track with the student level longitudinal data(6th-9th-11th grade). First, the differences between academic achievement in elementary and middle school were analyzed based on different high school types and then, it was found that the gap arose from elementary and middle school. Also, autonomous private high school was higher in all subjects, and that in both a foreign language high school and an international high school was higher in Korean and English, and that in a science high school was higher in mathematics. Second, the participation rate in subject-related after school was higher in autonomous high schools, foreign language and international high schools than regular high schools. Third, student’s home background according to a high school type were higher in science, foreign language and international high schools than that in general and autonomous high schools. Fourth, students in foreign and international high schools spent more time on private education when they were elementary and middle school students than those in general and autonomous private high schools. Fifth, student’s attitude toward class was highest in science high schools. Also, school life happiness was the highest in science high schools
