E. Key is a representative of 'pedagogy from child', which is founded on the change of the ideas of child. Key regarded child as a being of holiness and dignity. However this aspect was not from her own ideas, but she received it from tradition of romantic aspect. For the deeper understanding of Key's ideas of child, therefore it is necessary to stand against the romantic aspect of child. In this respect, this study aimed to explore the characteristics of the romantic aspect of Key's ideas of child. The contents of this study are summarized as follows. First, the common ideas of romantic childhood myth in the 1800s were examined: a child as an independent being, as an innocent being, as an fantastic being. Second, the relationship between romantic childhood myth and Key's ideas of child was certificated. And then the difference romantic childhood myth and Key's ideas of child was suggested: unhappiness of a child, a right of a child, a individuality of a child. Finally it was mentioned that Key's ideas of child was founded on the romantic childhood myth in the 1800s, however she suggested a personality as a essential nature of a child by adapting many other scientific theories and philosophical aspects.
