This study aims to find out the student-teachers' satisfaction level on the
international teaching practicum programs in USA, New Zealand, and France
through the survey and to determine the impact of the programme through
analyzing the student-teachers' pre-, and post-program interviews, journals,
and final reports. The satisfaction level is 3.2 in the USA program, 4.3 in the
New Zealand program, and 4.5 in the France program. The participants in
the three programs suggested that the contents and structure of the program
should be modified to meet the needs and expectations of the students. The
participants are satisfied with their home-stay saying that they not only
learned from their host families but also enjoyed being a part of their host
families. Also the pre-programme orientation and cultural experience travels
should be improved to meet the needs of the student-teachers. The
student-teachers have reported that they have improved their teaching skills,
multi-cultural competence, and foreign language communication skills and
presentation competence through the teaching practicum program coupled
with their home-stay and cultural experience travels. The long-term studies
on the effects of intranational teaching practicum and in-depth analyses of
journals should be carried out to develop the program further to meet the
needs of student-teachers.
