This research aims to analyze the research trends on writing targeting at children with disabilities. For
this research objective, a total of 117 academic journals in Korea have been analyzed in terms of the
research targets, research methods, and research themes. The results of analysis are as follows. First, the
result of analysis in terms of the disability types of the subjects shows that the researches on learning
disorder took up the most with 43.6% followed by intellectual disability 17.1%, hearing impairment
11.1%, and physical disability 9.4%. For the age of the subjects, elementary students accounted for the
most with 65.0% followed by “the others” with 16.2%, which is the mixed aged group, middle school
students 15.4%, and young children 3.4%. The result of analysis in terms of the research methods shows
that the experimental research accounted for the most with 57.3% followed by the developmental research
19.7% and literature review 17%. In terms of the research themes, teaching methods took up the most
with 59% followed by author research 22.2%. The results of examining the general characteristics of the
experimental research shows that the elementary students accounted for the most with 51 pieces of
writing(77.3%). For the number of the subjects of intervention, 5 or less took up the most with 48 pieces
of writing(72.7%). For the design methods, one group pretest-posttest design accounted for the most with
34.8% followed by multiple baseline across subject design 16.7% and pretest-posttest control group design
15.2%. For the intervention sessions, 10~20 sessions took up the most with 45.5% and for the
intervention hours, 30~40 minutes took up the most.
