Given that physical education class of elementary school has not currently been able to be implemented fully enough, this study was motivated to suggest a proposal for improved preliminary teacher selection system. To this end, data were collected from the cases of selecting new university students at the early admission, related with physical education at the National University of Education across the country. In addition, the analysis of the data provided future direction of early admission of the department of physical education. First of all, among all National University of Education in a country, two universities has selected new students through an early admission for the department of physical education. In specific, two characteristics of early admission should be pointed out as follows: First, the early admission has reflected the degree of completion of physical education in high school. And next, another screening type found was screening physical education professionals by assessing their excellence of exercise ability in physical education. Based on these findings, a proposal was suggested to better screen preliminary teacher of elementary school. First, it was suggested that the degree of completion in the subject of physical education should be reflected in university admission screening, which were achieved in physical education focused school or special- purpose high school of physical education. Second, it was suggested that assessment of exercise capability should be employed to select students who were ready and talented in physical education learning. Finally, it was suggested that the early admission of physical related majors should provide minimum level of academic ability examined in the College Scholastic Ability Test like non-physical education majors.
